Dedicated to Visions

Hello My wonderful Darlings,

It really has been quite some time...over a year to be a little more precise.  I actually think my last few posts were something like this one.  I've been absent...blah, blah, blah,  I promise to return...yada, yada.  Let me just say that one year gives you a lot of time to reflect on the things that you miss, the things (and people) you love, and the importance of doing something that you really find enjoyable.

For those of you that don't know, a year ago I stopped blogging so that I would have more time to focus on family and work.  What I found is that this year went by without any big catastrophes.  No one broke any bones and the bills got paid, and yet something was missing.  I missed the friendships I made online.  I missed writing on my little blog, and expressing my heart's desire for my home.  The truth is that I LOVE interior decorating and I missed doing something for ME.

When I walk into a Pottery Barn, it is not just an ordinary grin you see on my face.  No...I'm a giddy school girl as I take in their breathtaking displays of pillar candles and take mental notes of how I can get "that look" on my dining room table.  The same thing happens as I drink a toasty beverage and drift through all of your lovely blogs.  My heart skips a beat, my fingers twitch with excitement as I comment on a diy project I admire, and my smile widens with each new blog that I can find.  It's like finding my own little treasure trove...and many of you feel the same way that I do.  That is why we blog!

So how will I make this go different from the last?  Well, normally what would happen is I would go right into editing my blog.  Playing with web design is also a pastime that I enjoy.  I told myself that instead of playing with my page for hours, that I would first write a post telling you all how much I've missed being part of the blog world.

It's really funny how things work because while I've been away I've managed to do a few things with the house.  I've transformed a room or two, and I still have some wonderful projects on my todo list.  It's still a work in progress, but our home really has come a long way since last year.  The sad part is that had I kept up with blogging, I would have had more "before" pics and it would have been documented better.

I've come to realize that with my nice new iPhone (yes, I'm an avid Apple user), endless photo editing apps, the new great books being published, and my shameless addiction to Pinterest, I really have no excuses.  I'll just devote some of my Pinterest time back into Blossoming Visions.  Blogging is something I enjoy as a wife and mother.  It's important for us women to take time for ourselves.  After all, a happy wife = a happy life!  lol!

Beet Cake...

Scrumptious...indeed.  I haven't even tried making this delectable delight, but from the look of this video there is no way it could taste bad.  Just see for yourself...
I have learned that an artistic view not only comes from beautiful photography but from video work as well.

I am definitely a fan of Tiger in a Jar.  Click on the link for more of their work!

Toodles,

Ahem...

Excuse me while I clear my virtual throat, for it has been some time since my last post.  It's funny but my last few posts have started somewhat like this.

Well it has been nearly 3 months since ventured out in blogland and let me say that I've missed you all so much.  I miss our friendly banter, back and forth how do you do's and I've even missed some new friends whom I haven't even had the chance to become acquainted with.

So as you can see I've dusted my shelves, packed up the old, and now I'm in with the new (new blog look that is).  I figure I needed a fresh start.

So what's new you'll probably ask?  I've been a busy bee.  I've been working like crazy, bought a new car, went on a vacation to Disneyland, been to the beach a couple of times, and we just dropped the kids off at Grandma's house for 4 weeks (maybe that explains why I have the time to blog)!

As for my home decor...alas it remains the same except for a few nick-nacks and new bedding.  My cupboards are still a drab maple and I haven't bought any new furniture.  I can't help but post some pictures of the kitchens that inspire me.  Maybe I can make a weekend trip to Lowe's for paint.  I've already been searching Benjamin Moore's color choices.

I'm really liking this pale blue to lighten things up.

I'm also leaning towards the white subway tiles.

Wish me luck ladies...
It will take some time to get to these levels.

XOXO
Natalie
