Blossoming Ideas

Good Morning Dolls!

I'm back this cozy morning to tell you about my new blog approach.  I was thinking about when I started this blog back in '10.  I had envisioned me getting all wrapped up in immediate renos on my house.  Painting every room top to bottom and turning my kitchen into my "dream kitchen" in a couple of months.  Who was I fooling?  No one (well maybe just myself).

Those who have tackled those kinds of projects before know that the remodeling process takes years, not months.  My blog started to reflect that lull.  I wish I could this, I wish I could that...well, you get the point.  Something that my blog WAS doing was keeping me motivated.  I had an endless borage of ideas filling my brain.  I will be keeping inspiration photos intact.

After all, we all search blogs for inspiration.  Some of you are amazing DIY experts.  You can turn a popsicle stick into a chandelier.  I am not one of those that can dream up something like that.  I CAN learn from a tutorial and put my own spin on something.  So that's it!  My blog will be an outlet of sharing.

I will share DIY ideas I love and feel brave enough to tackle...like this pantry using IKEA cd storage units.  I will post my before and afters.

I will share an occasional recipe, linked to the original chef.  This is Cheese Pecan Dip (yum) found via Food and Cook.

Perhaps you may even see an outfit or two thrown in here and there.

There will be link parties, giveaways, features, and a few other things I have up my sleeve.  All the while, they will be things that keep you occupied while I redo my home.  My own pics will be posted as I tackle.  Some will be posted while in transition :-)

Please stop by Monday for my first trick up my sleeve.  You won't want to miss it!

Dedicated to Visions

Hello My wonderful Darlings,

It really has been quite some time...over a year to be a little more precise.  I actually think my last few posts were something like this one.  I've been absent...blah, blah, blah,  I promise to return...yada, yada.  Let me just say that one year gives you a lot of time to reflect on the things that you miss, the things (and people) you love, and the importance of doing something that you really find enjoyable.

For those of you that don't know, a year ago I stopped blogging so that I would have more time to focus on family and work.  What I found is that this year went by without any big catastrophes.  No one broke any bones and the bills got paid, and yet something was missing.  I missed the friendships I made online.  I missed writing on my little blog, and expressing my heart's desire for my home.  The truth is that I LOVE interior decorating and I missed doing something for ME.

When I walk into a Pottery Barn, it is not just an ordinary grin you see on my face.  No...I'm a giddy school girl as I take in their breathtaking displays of pillar candles and take mental notes of how I can get "that look" on my dining room table.  The same thing happens as I drink a toasty beverage and drift through all of your lovely blogs.  My heart skips a beat, my fingers twitch with excitement as I comment on a diy project I admire, and my smile widens with each new blog that I can find.  It's like finding my own little treasure trove...and many of you feel the same way that I do.  That is why we blog!

So how will I make this go different from the last?  Well, normally what would happen is I would go right into editing my blog.  Playing with web design is also a pastime that I enjoy.  I told myself that instead of playing with my page for hours, that I would first write a post telling you all how much I've missed being part of the blog world.

It's really funny how things work because while I've been away I've managed to do a few things with the house.  I've transformed a room or two, and I still have some wonderful projects on my todo list.  It's still a work in progress, but our home really has come a long way since last year.  The sad part is that had I kept up with blogging, I would have had more "before" pics and it would have been documented better.

I've come to realize that with my nice new iPhone (yes, I'm an avid Apple user), endless photo editing apps, the new great books being published, and my shameless addiction to Pinterest, I really have no excuses.  I'll just devote some of my Pinterest time back into Blossoming Visions.  Blogging is something I enjoy as a wife and mother.  It's important for us women to take time for ourselves.  After all, a happy wife = a happy life!  lol!
