A cloudy piece of inspiration...

I simply bring you a home I admire from Washington State. It's a remodeled cottage on a steamboat island that deserves some attention.
I don't even have words for this. I wish I was there now.

I like the fact that the headboard looks like an old mantle.

You can't go wrong with a farmhouse sink and a stove that looks like that!

The view is breath-taking!

Everything about this stairway is inviting...especially the pup.

This is a simple post about a not so simple home, nestled on the sea, and calling out to those who'd like to getaway.

  1. I'm so envious of all these houses you blog about, they are just simpe beautiful :)

  2. Beautiful home! I wish I was there too. I really like the bedroom (headboard and linens) and the dresser at the top of the stairs.

Really there isn't much about this house NOT to like.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. That is a beautiful "get away" home. Simply stunning, if stunning can be described as simple. Thanks for the inspiration

  4. That is really gorgeous. I love Agas in kitchen They' wamr everything up beautifully.

But can you imagine going to visit? I just know it'd be me who accidently trod on the dog on the stairs!!

  5. Gorgeous home...I could move right in! Love everything from the mantel headboard to the kitchen sink! And what a pretty view! Breathtaking!

  6. Natalie, it is a
    close-kept dream
    of mine to live
    near Seattle, some
    day! I spent a good
    portion of my childhood
in the Pac NW and my
    parents live in SW
    Washington. My spirit
    is so drawn to that
    area. Love all of
    these images....and
    your soup recipe from
    your last post! Imagine
    eating that soup while
    enjoying the view in
    your first picture:
    xx Suzanne
